Britain’s Healthiest Workplace 2016

UK employers are failing to adequately invest in the health and wellbeing of their employees, which is costing the UK economy £57bn a year in lost productivity. This is why Britain’s Healthiest Workplace is important.

Britain’s Healthiest Workplace is the UK’s most comprehensive workplace wellness study. It is a dual survey completed by both employer and employees, therefore offering both a top-down and bottom-up view of the nation’s health. Participating employers will gain a better understanding of the health risks affecting their employees, how these change over time and how they impact on health and productivity. The research also looks at how organisations can support their employees to be healthier and more productive, and provides recommendations for improvement.

While some companies are investing in workplace wellness, they face significant challenges in changing the lifestyle choices made by their employees, and improving their health as a result.

BRITAIN’S HEALTHIEST WORKPLACE AIMS TO HELP YOUR ORGANISATION:

• Identify the underlying health issues affecting your workforce
• Establish attitudes to health, and motivation to change, among your employees
• Understand the extent to which your existing wellness facilities are being used, and their overall effectiveness in improving employee health
• Provide benchmarking against other participating organisations
• Establish best practice solutions to inform future HR strategies

Britain’s Healthiest Workplace was developed by VitalityHealth and is delivered in partnership with the University of Cambridge, RAND Europe, the Financial Times and Mercer. Registration for Britain’s Healthiest Workplace is now open and all companies with 20 employees or more are encouraged to register. Participation is free of charge.

Since its inception in 2013, 230 companies and 65,696 employees have taken part in the study. Previous winners include organisations such as Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Adidas UK, Quintiles and Nomura.
