HR180 Hounds raise funds for woofy friends hunting for ‘Forever Homes’

We’ve walked with our waggy colleagues to raise funds for the Dogs Trust, Leeds. The Rehoming Centre is based close to our offices, and we wanted to support this great cause as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility commitment – and the HR180 dogs are the reason why!

Your HR180 Heroes based in Leeds, Yorkshire have been taking a break from offering outstanding Outsourced HR, HR Consulting, HR Projects and everything else people related too!

The HR180 hounds have been on the hunt for funds to help raise much needed money for dogs who are still waiting for their perfect homes. As graduates of Dogs Trust, Jasper and Pru, accompanied by a determined crew from the HR180 team, took part in Paws in the Park, a sponsored walk around the grounds at the local stately home, Temple Newsham House.

After troubled starts in life, Welsh Springer Spaniel, Pru, and Malinois Whippet Cross, Jasper, stole the hearts of our MD Claire Morley-Jones and her husband Jon when they spotted them at Dogs Trust Leeds Rehoming Centre. Very much part of the Morley-Jones household, the doggy duo are valued members of the team at our Garforth based office too, and accompany Claire to work every day. They are always a talking point and are fantastic stress relievers – great for a quick cuddle.

And we can’t imagine office life without them! The working day can be quite stressful for us and our clients, as we deal with things like company restructuring and all people related employment issues, but they help put everyone at ease.

Claire says, “Pru and Jasper give us all so much joy every day, we wanted to give something back to help those dogs who are still waiting to find their forever home. We had a marvellous day out negotiating the hilly terrain with 4 toddlers in pushchairs and 3 dizzy office dogs, including Asher who joins us each week to spend time with the team here in Leeds. A huge thank you to our clients and friends who have already donated – helping us raise £380 so far. We would love it if when you read this you may give a little towards our goal to raise £450 to help our local Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre, having taken part in the Paws in the Park sponsored walk at Temple Newsam on 4 September.”

Before Claire and Jon adopted Jasper, he’d had four homes and had recently failed his final exam to become a sniffer dog! When his companion dog, Tama, died unexpectedly, Claire and Jon quite literally didn’t go anywhere together for six months as Jasper became stressed if he was alone. That’s when the family headed back to Dogs Trust Leeds and spotted the beautiful Pru, who soon became part of an extended family – at home and in the office.

Claire says, “They may not get paid a salary but they get lots of treats and cuddles and there’s always someone eager to take them for a walk.”

To support our fundraising it would be amazing if you could follow the link to our JustGiving page and take time to donate – thank you.
