This January CIPD’s Dr Jill Miller published an assessment ‘Developing the line on absence and well-being’ based on the findings of the professional body for HR and people development’s 2016 Absence Management Survey, highlighting that whilst employers are recognising the value of line managers in managing absence at work they are failing to provide managers the tools they need to manage absence effectively.
